Some of the events happening during the festival are:
- Battle of Books - Staff vs. Students: Come watch our super-smart students and staff battle to see who can remember the most about the 2011 Caudill nominee books.
- Jazz Band performances: Two snazzy sets will be performed by this great group!
- Student Council Concessions: Snacks will be available for purchase to benefit the student council activities fund.
- Buy One, Get One Free Scholastic Book Fair: Every single book in the fair is buy one, get one free. This deal happens only once a year. Come stock up for summer!
- Poetry Slam: Some poems just have to be heard out loud! Prizes will be awarded for best presentation of night.
- Spring Writing Contest Winners Announced: The winning middle school students will be awarded prizes and be given the opportunity to share their work with our audience.
- Earth Day Book Swap: If you have newer books collecting dust on your shelves at home, please consider participating in this event. The book collection will take place between April 18th and April 21st. Any books appropriate for preschool through high school, in new, like-new or gently used condition, can be dropped off at the YMS library. You will receive a coupon for the number of acceptable books you donate which can be exchanged for other books donated to the book swap. The books will remain available for coupon redemption in the YMS library until May 27th.
