Failure To Register As Sex Offender Among Yorkville Crime: Police

The Yorkville Police Department said officers responded to the following crime incidents across the city in recent days.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville Police Department officers responded to the following crime reports during the second week of July 2020:

Failure to register as a sex offender

Yorkville police officers were talking to Andrew Echols, 45, from Yorkville, at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Landmark Avenue when it was learned the man had a warrant for his arrest out of Kendall County for failing to register as a sex offender. According to police, Echols was arrested and taken to the Kendall County Jail.

Domestic battery report

Yorkville police officers were called to the 1200 block of Mistwood Court at 8:20 p.m., July 5, for a report of a domestic battery. After an investigation, 54-year-old Daniel T. Gordon was arrested on accusations of domestic battery.

Identity theft

The Yorkville Police Department said they're investigating an identity theft that took place in the 2400 block of Emerald Lane on July 5. The identify theft — a felony — took place at 2:44 p.m., according to the police report.

One person was taken to the hospital on July 5 after a crash involving three vehicles on Route 47 at Appletree Court. According to police, Phillip Loetscher, 47, from Yorkville, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Route 47, just north of Appletree Court, when he veered into the southbound lanes of Route 47. According to police, a 1997 Ford F350, pulling a trailer, was being driven southbound on Route 47, just north of Appletree court, by 38-year-old Aniello Lombardozzi, from Elburn. Frances Sykes, 61, from Yorkville, was driving a 2016 Hyundai Tucson southbound, directly next to the Ford F350, when the Chevy Equinox hit the trailer being pulled by the Ford F350, causing the trailer to swing into the Hyundai Tucson.

The Chevy and Hyundai were towed from the crash site, and the driver of the Chevy — Loetscher — was taken to Rush Copley in Aurora. He was also issued two citations, according to police.
