Families of the Victims of Carl Reimann Petition to Revoke Parole

As Reimann sits in prison awaiting yet another parole hearing on June 12th, families circulate petition to revoke parole permanently.

Families of the victims of Carl Reimann are circulating a petition to the Illinois Parole Board to ask that his parole be revoked permanently.

Carl Allen Reimann was convicted of "methodically, carefully and slowly" murdering 5 innocent people during an armed robbery at a Yorkville, IL restaurant. He was sentenced to 50 - 150 years for EACH of the 5 the murders, but shockingly was paroled on April 26, 2018 by the Illinois Prisoner Review Board after serving just 45 years. His victims included:

  • David Gardner - 35, grocery store manager, father of 4, a patron
  • Catherine Rekate - 16, high school student, the dishwasher
  • Robert Loftus - 48, WWII Veteran, a patron
  • John Wilson - 48, the bartender
  • George Paschade - 74, the cook

With his parole, outrage, grief, and fear was once again thrust upon his victim's families and upon communities. News agencies across the United States and abroad reported on this most unusual and unfortunate decision: Newsweek, Huffpost, Fox News, CNN, Daily Mail UK, and many local and state reports. The Illinois Prisoner Review Board paroled this mass murderer to reside near not one, but two schools and nearby parks. After community outrage, Carl Allan Reimann was returned to custody in Dixon, Illinois until another "suitable" parole location is found. The IPRB now has the ability to entirely revoke parole and return him to prison to finish his entire sentence which shouldn't end until 2039.
