Golf Course Employee Charged with Theft
Man is accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A 50-year-old Sandwich man has been charged with multiple counts of theft, according to a release from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
On Jan. 11, 2015, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office received information about a possible embezzling incident and began an investigation into allegations that an employee had taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Blackberry Oaks Golf Course located at 2245 Kennedy Rd. in Yorkville.
On June 16, 2015, James R. Campbell, 50, of Sandwich, was charged with 20 counts of theft (eight class one felonies and 12 class two felonies), one count of burglary, a class two felony, one count of computer fraud, a class two felony and one count of forgery, a class three felony.

A warrant was issued for Campbell’s arrest and his bond was set at $100,000 with ten percent to apply.
On June 17, 2015, Campbell was arrested by the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputies and posted bond.
