Kendall County Deputy Assigned To FBI Terrorism Task Force

The task force focuses on domestic terrorism.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is now partnering with the FBI by assigning a deputy to work on the Joint Terrorism Task Force. The position focuses on domestic terrorism and will provide a strong working network between the sheriff’s office and numerous federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. "It has always been my goal to evaluate and take part in cost effective measures to ensure that the citizens of Kendall County are provided with the highest level of service from its law enforcement," Sheriff Dwight Baird said.

"Our partnership with the FBI increases our resources and effectiveness in a unique and exciting way," Baird added. "The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is proud to contribute to our country’s national security on a local level."

The FBI describes JTTFs as “our nation’s front line on terrorism: small cells of highly trained, locally based, passionately committed investigators, analysts, linguists, SWAT experts, and other specialists from dozens of U.S. law enforcement and intelligence agencies.” JTTF investigators “chase down leads, gather evidence, make arrests, provide security for special events, conduct training, collect and share intelligence, and respond to threats and incidents at a moment’s notice.”
