Kendall County Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting
Police say the shooting was not a random act of violence and that there is no danger to the public.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened at around 6 a.m. Sunday.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, a person drove by a home on the 100 block of Laurie Lane in unincorporated Oswego and stopped in front of the victim’s home and opened fire. The shooter fled the area before police arrived and the victim was at home at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported.
Deputies located numerous bullet holes in the home and with assistance from the Aurora police located the shooter and vehicle in Aurora. Deputies also determined that the victim was involved with a physical altercation with the shooter at an Aurora bar earlier in the evening. The victim and shooter knew each other from having previous contact.

Kendall County detectives are conducting an investigation into this matter. The Aurora Police Department and Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team are assisting. At this time, the shooting is not believed to be a random act of violence as it was focused on a specific person and location. There is no known threat to the public.
The Oswego and Montgomery Police Departments also assisted with the incident.

Person can also call Kendall County Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999. Callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the offenders.
