Kendall County Teachers Eligible for Grant
The grant will fund or partially fund projects in three areas of educational needs.

The Kendall Education Connection (KEC) is offering a grant to teachers in Kendall County to help extend learning beyond the classroom walls. The grant will fund or partially fund projects in three areas of educational needs related to topics of agriculture, environmental education, natural resources or health.

The grant is intended to fund teacher trainings like workshops, conferences, classes or even substitute teacher pay so that a teacher can go and attend such an event. The grant can also fund teaching supplies like books, hands-on manipulatives, or outdoor classroom materials. Finally, the grant could help to fund a field trip by covering student admission fees or transportation. KEC intends to fund grants up to $250 each.

This past spring the recipient was Jasmine Anderson, a teacher at Bristol Bay Elementary School in Yorkville.
Applications can be obtained by contacting Deanna Bazan at dbazan@roe24.org. Completed forms must be postmarked by December 31, and all applicants will be notified by January 31, 2017.

The grant is made possible by member agencies of the Kendall Education Connection including the Kendall County Forest Preserve, the Kendall County Health Department, the Kendall County Outdoor Education Center, the Kendall County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Kendall County Farm Bureau, and the University of Illinois Kendall County Extension.
