Liquid Poured in Car, Retail Theft: Yorkville Blotter

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty.

Jan. 17

Police took a report of a vehicle that had liquid poured into it. Police are still investigating the incident.

Jan. 19

Makayla A. Zarek, 20, of the 47000 block of Jericho Rd. in Big Rock, was charged with driving while license suspended. The arrest occurred at Main Street and Fox Street.

Jan. 20

Three female juveniles were charged with retail theft from Kohl’s. They were taken into custody and released to their parents.

Jan. 21

Police are investigating a criminal damage to property incident. A woman noticed scratches along the passenger side of her car, which included a profanity.

Justin A. Selle, 21, of the 1000 block of S. Main Street, was charged with retail theft. Selle allegedly stole a bottle of Jose Cuervo from a store in the 100 block of W. Veterans Parkway. Police viewed surveillance footage and immediately recognized Selle due to “numerous prior police contacts.” Selle was arrested at his home.
