Local Fugitive Arrested By Kendall Co. Detectives, U.S. Marshals
U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehends fugitive in Ottawa for several retail thefts and other warrants.

OTTAWA, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office said their detectives along with members of the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force and the Ottawa Police Department arrested wanted fugitive 20-year-old Jesse Martinez in the 1300 block of Dakota Drive in Ottawa, Illinois on Tuesday. The sheriff's office said Martinez, from Ottawa, was charged with theft for several retail theft incidents at the Newark BP gas station at 303 East Route 71, stemming from multiple reports from that location since June 13, 2018.
The sheriff's office said after Martinez - a recent Kendall County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Friday subject - was identified as the suspect in these cases by Kendall County detectives, a fugitive investigation followed in regards to his whereabouts.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Martinez had several failure to appear warrants, including one for a domestic battery charge out of Kane County, one for a traffic offense out of DuPage County and one to appear warrant for a resisting a peace officer charge out of La Salle County.

The sheriff's office had several arrest warrants for Martinez, which consisted of of three retail theft charges, a felony aggravated fleeing and eluding charge and multiple traffic offenses.

The sheriff's office said Martinez was taken to the Ottawa police station and then to the La Salle County Jail.
