Metaphysically Fit Fest July 25 in Yorkville

The event will feature 30 vendors, musical acts, and opportunities to take workshops of anything from yoga to belly dancing.

Four years ago, in an effort to connect people in the community and share what she saw as an opportunity to immerse participants in healing, music and the natural arts, Tairi Grace, owner of Sense of Samadhi, founded the Metaphysically Fit Fest.

The event this year will feature 30 vendors, three musical acts on the main stage and opportunities to take workshops of anything from yoga to herbs to belly dancing.

“I started this fest to offer exposure to different cultures, to diverse people and bring the community together to celebrate life and connection,” Grace said.

Susan Justice, owner of Justice for Your Soul, has been a vendor at the fair since the beginning.

“It started as just trying to bring a spiritual event to the area,” she said. “When that started I was just doing past life work.”

Since that first Metaphysically Fit Fest, she has added reiki, tarot readings and other tools to her toolbox. On July 25, she will offer current and past life tarot card readings and chakra balancing using kundalini reiki.

She returns again and again as a vendor because of what the fest offers.
“It is something I believe in and having that alternative option and bringing the community together and it’s family friendly,” she said.

In addition to vendors offering services, there will be opportunities to give back. Debi and Marty Kermeen of Labyrinths in Stone build labyrinths as part of their world-renowned labyrinth building business. At the fest, she will be building a labyrinth with donated shoes. She will be collecting for Chicago Lights, an organization that uplifts others.

“They take adults off the street and get them educated and help them find jobs and clothing and food,” she said. “We just decided that it’s nice to have new shoes especially when you have nothing. It’s very representative of starting a new path.”

Tickets to Metaphysically Fit Fest are on sale now at http://www.metaphysicallyfitfest.com/.

Presale tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids 5 to 12. Tickets the day of the fest are $12 at the door. Children’s tickets remain $5.
