Newark Man Charged With Sex Abuse Of 14-Year-Old

Police believe that he was an acquaintance of the teen.

NEWARK, IL — A Newark man has been charged with sexual assault of a 14-year-old, according to recent reports. Donald Lage, 37 is alleged to have sexually abused the teen in July 2017.

Lage, of the 400 block of Chicago Road in Newark, is facing charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and attempted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, both felonies, Kendall County Now reported the sheriff's office as saying.

Kendall County Sheriff's Deputies responded in November 2017 to the initial report of sexual abuse, when they were told of the abuse in July. Lage was an acquaintance of the juvenile, police determined.

Kendall County Now reported that the charges were filed on Feb. 23.

Lage's bond is set at $100,000 with 10 percent to apply.
