No Threat After Yorkville Student Had Bullet, Cops Say

Charges are pending against the 16-year-old.

YORKVILLE, IL — A 16-year-old Yorkville High School student is facing charges after admitting to having a .40-caliber bullet on campus, police said. Officers responded to the school at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving information that a student at the high school was in possession of a bullet.

Police said when confronted what that information, the boy admitted it and handed over the bullet.

"There is no threat to the community of Yorkville School students," police said in a news release, adding that charges and disciplinary action against the 16-year-old are pending.
