David L. Stephenson
David L. Stephenson, age 57, of Morris and formerly of Odell, Illinois, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at home with his family at his side.

He was born October 23, 1968, in Pontiac, Illinois to Martha (Vincent) and the late John Stephenson.Dave was raised in Odell and was a member of the second to the last graduating class (1986) of Odell High School before its' closure. Dave also earned an Associate’s Degree in Law enforcement. He served his Country proudly as a specialist with the "E-4 Mafia" of the US Army.
He is the beloved husband ofDawn (Corbett) Stephenson, whom he married October 24, 1998. Loving father of Alexandra and Claire Stephenson; dearest son of Martha Stephenson; fond brother of Tammy Stephenson-Six. Also surviving are his nephews, Eric (Amanda) and Jason (Meredith) Welch and dear cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, John Stephenson and several aunts and uncles.
Dave felt grateful for the time the good Lord gave him here and the many blessings in his life.He will be remembered as a true family man and good friend.His path was a good one with varied highlights. After serving his Country in the Army and National Guard and working the oil fields in North Dakota as well as a short stint as a Police Officer, he found his calling and second family with Ron Dibble Trucking, logging many miles and many friendships.

A memorial service will take place Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. First Baptist Church, 1650 W. US Route 6 in Morris. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Cancer Society, or the Cancer Support Center (Mokena, IL).
