On the 1st Day of Christmas My Trainer Gave to Me....

.....Fitness Tips
In keeping with my holiday tradition of counting down to Christmas, I once again bring you: “12 Days of Fitness My Trainer Gave to Me…” This year I’m going to share my top 12 Fitness Tips :) It was actually quite challenging for me to choose only 12! I’ve been in the fitness business for about 29 years, so I’ve dispensed plenty of advice with the hope of helping someone be the healthiest they can be! I’ve always viewed myself as being able to relate to real people with real struggles, whether it’s motivation, weight, or even life’s events! I would love to be hardcore say I only eat lettuce, tofu, and fiber, and workout 7 days a week, but no….I love food waaay too much and always try to enjoy life-which makes me more like the average person  :)  I hope you will find my fitness tips to be very do-able and user friendly! So here we go!!

On the First Day of Christmas My Trainer Gave to Me…..a Fabulous Fitness Tip:
This one is especially applicable this time of year. Should you workout if you’re sick? The “rule” has always been if you’re sick from the shoulders up; you should be ok. If you need to, take something for what ails you, and if you’re working out solo-go ahead and do it, but maybe back off a little.

But if there’s a chance you will be sharing your germs with others, then do everyone, including yourself, a favor and stay home! Take nap and recover-who wants to workout when you’re sick anyway?! When you return to your regular workouts, be nice to yourself, and don’t overdo it!

And, obviously, if you have a chronic illness or serious disease, do what your doctor tells you and ignore me :)

So even being a little under the weather may not be a good enough reason to skip your workout!
