“Old School” thinking is that if you don’t work out for at least 60 minutes every time, then what’s the point? 45 (or even 30) minutes of effective, focused exercise is sufficient. Key words being effective and focused! Gotta get that Heart Rate Monitor :) this is no time for slacking off. We can all squeeze out 45 minutes out of our day to get healthy, right?! Try for 3-5 times a week and mix it up, maybe do something different each time!
What I’ve found, too, is that a person is more likely to workout when in their head it seems easier to do, since it’s short. (But we all know that’s not necessarily true, right?-haha) Have extra time? There is nothing wrong with longer workouts!
All that being said, I still like teaching some 60 minute classes, too! It allows enough time to do plenty of cardio and strength, finishing it up with a nice segment of yoga!
