A simple, practically painless, way to move from walking to running is to download the phone app called HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Runkeeper. Set the timer to run for 1 minute (or even 30 seconds if that’s all you can do) then walk for 2-3 minutes. Repeat these intervals for 30 minutes or so. Each week either decrease the walk time or increase the run time until you can run continuously for 20-30 minutes (or whatever your goal is). Adjust it where you need to!
There are plenty of other apps available to help you become a runner-in my opinion it’s a matter of personal preference. Or maybe it's the only one you can figure out :) I use a few different apps based on my goals or my client’s goals! Let me know if you use an especially good one.
Makes it sound so easy, doesn’t it? Simply download an app and before you know it-you are an official runner!!
