Oswego Student Injured After Car Crashes into Back of School Bus: Police
The 17-year-old driver was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

OSWEGO, IL — One Thompson Junior High student was injured Wednesday afternoon after a school bus stopped westbound in the 100 block of Washington St. at the railroad crossing was struck from behind by a 17-year-old Oswego boy driving a blue 2004 Saturn Ion.
According to Oswego Police Department Public Information Officer Cathy Nevara, the driver of the Saturn left the scene of the accident and then went to the police department to report it.
The 13-year-old female student from the bus was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the school bus, a 60-year-old Aurora man, was uninjured.

No vehicles were towed from the scene. The 17-year-old boy was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash occurred at around 3:22 p.m.
