Boombah Retail Store is celebrating its grand opening from noon to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Customers can touch the fabric and test the sizing of products in the recently opened retail store on Yorkville's north side.
The store is in the former office space for ProBuild. It sits at 204 Boombah Blvd., which is directly west from the building that houses Boombah's corporate headquarters, merchandise customizing space and warehouse space.
The retail store is an opportunity for Boombah to brand itself for more general athletic apparel and equipment, store manager Amanda Winter said. The selection is much broader than the "will call" area Boombah previously offered in Morris.

"Everyone knows Boombah for baseball or softball," Winter said. "But why doesn't everyone know about the polos for dad?"
Boombah offers a high-quality men's polyester polo, which typically would cost $49, for $22.99 t0 $24.99, Winter said. The store also carries the Glyder line of women's athletic apparel. Winter compared Glyder had affordable prices for merchandise similar to lululemon.

The store offers a variety of colors, with many products emphasizing Yorkville, Oswego and Plano school colors, Winter said. Customers interested in customizing products can check the fit and style of particular items before talking with a salesman.
Additional Boombah Retail Stores are expected to open in Illinois by the end of the year, Winter said.
Boombah moved to Yorkville from Morris within the last year. Boombah President Rick Tollefson sits of the board of directors for the Yorkville Economic Development Corporation and also owns Cobblestone Bakery & Bistro, Kendall Pub, and the buildings that house the Follies Theatre.
The retail store is open from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
