Polar Plunge May Result in Increased Traffic
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of traffic being slowed or stopped.

The Special Olympics Illinois Polar Plunge may result in some increased traffic in Yorkville.
“Due to the anticipation of an increase in traffic for the event, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office would like to warn motorists of the possibility of traffic being slowed or stopped near the fairgrounds and Silver Springs State Park,” the sheriff’s office said in a release.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid Route 71 near the fairgrounds and Fox Road near Silver Springs State Park during the timeframe of this event and seek alternative routes of travel, the release said.

The Plunge will be taking place between 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at Loon Lake located in Silver Springs State Park on Fox Road in Yorkville.
Registration for the event begins at 11 a.m. at the Kendall County Fairgrounds located at Route 71 and East Highpoint Road in Yorkville.
