Police Blotter: Woman Gets Phony Kidnapping Call; Landlord Reports Stolen Money

The landlord of a home in the 5600 block of Schmidt Lane reported that her tenant left money at the house, but upon arriving at the house, the money was gone, Kendall County Sheriff’s police said.

Kendall County Sheriff’s police took a report of a missing person possibly being held against his will from a woman who said she received a call from a location in Aurora directing her to respond in exchange for her son’s safety, police said. An investigation determined that the information provided during the phone call was inaccurate, and the woman’s son was not missing, according to police. The investigation is ongoing and charges may be filed, police said.
