Suspect in stolen car crashed it into a tree and then fled on foot.

A male suspect is on the run after crashing a vehicle into a tree and fleeing on foot.

At about 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near the Jewel on Route 30 in Oswego. The driver did not yield to the emergency lights and attempted to elude the deputy. The suspect crashed the vehicle into a tree and then fled on foot. The deputy pursued the suspect on foot. Oswego and Montgomery police officers assisted in attempting to locate the suspect.

When officers made contact with the registered owner of the vehicle the suspect was driving, it was learned that it had been stolen. The Oswego Police Department in conjunction with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the motor vehicle theft, criminal damage to property for a broken fence and a property damage crash, including leaving the scene of an accident, eluding police and obstruction.
