'Pull for Pups' Set for Saturday
Event features feats of strength to benefit area animal shelters.
Area body builders are flexing their muscles to help out area four-legged friends.
On Saturday, two-man deadlift teams from Jakked Gym, 1450 S. River Road in Montgomery, will "pull for reps" to benefit Rover Rescue and Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary. All proceeds raised will benefit the two area shelters. A charity raffle will also be held.
This is the second year the event has been held. Last year the event raised approximately $1,100 in both donations and money for animal organizations, including Aurora Animal Control, said Tami Hicks of Jakked. This year they hope to triple that amount.

Doors open Saturday at 2 p.m. Entry is $10. Pet food donations will be appreciated.
