Snow Day: School Closings Announce Ahead Of Illinois Winter Storm
Schools in Will and Kendall counties had announced closings for Friday and Metra was warning of possible service disruptions.

With the forecast now predicting 10 to 15 inches of snow and a winter storm warning in effect, some area schools and organizations are already making the call to cancel class on Friday or postpone after-school activities on Thursday. Even Chicago Public Schools β known for rarely closing due to snowstorms β has called off school because of the extreme weather.
Metra also issued an alert to commuters warning of possible delays, saying:
Metra will make every effort to provide a timely and comfortable commute. Unfortunately, weather conditions beyond our control could disrupt service and delay your train. Please allow extra travel time to get to and from your destination. We regret any weather-related delays and we appreciate your patience. Please refer to Service Updates for line-specific information.
In Plainfield, police were warning drivers to stay off the roads Thursday night and during the day Friday if at all possible.
