School Closings: Districts Cancel School Wednesday Due to Extreme Cold

With wind chills of 30 to 35 below predicted for Tuesday night and early Wednesday, some school districts made the call to cancel school.

As of late Tuesday, these schools had announced closings for Wednesday, Jan. 7:

• Joliet Public School District 86
• Union School District 81
• Valley View School District
• Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202
• Channahon School District 17
• Troy Community Consolidated School District 30-C
• Yorkville CUSD 115
• Taft School District 90
• Milne-Kelvin Grove District 91
• Elite Children’s Academy (Plainfield)
• St. Mary Immaculate (Plainfield)
• Montessori of Plainfield
• Channahon Park District Preschool
• Cross Lutheran School (Yorkville)
• Midwest Christian Montessori Academy (Bolingbrook)
• Parkview Christian Academy (Yorkville)
• St. Paul the Apostle (Joliet)
• Cathedral of St. Raymond School (Joliet)
• Oswego School District 308
• Joliet Township High School District
• Joliet Catholic Academy

Joliet Junior College locations, including the main campus and Romeoville location, will have a late start beginning at 10 a.m., according to JJC.
