Meet Solider!

Male, Chihuahua/Terrier mix - approximately 2 years and 22lbs.

This is a great little guy for a home that likes small house-dogs. He is loving and affectionate and is sad in the shelter. He needs a home with his own little bed to feel safe. Solider sadly is heart worm positive and Safe Haven Dog Rescue would like to bring him to Illinois to undergo treatment.

Our foster families have the first option to adopt and while you foster, we pay for all vetting at our participating vet offices and also provide crate, toys, food, leash and collar.

Heartworm is an easily preventable disease and it's sad that so many dogs are not given a monthly preventative. If you already have a dog, there is no risk to their health as long as they are taking a heartworm preventative.
