Solstice Fest, Indie Music/Beer Event, Returns To Yorkville
Here's what you need to know about the two-day event to welcome summer.

YORKVILLE, IL — Rogue Barrister Records and Three Angels Brewing, both of Yorkville, will bring the Summer Solstice fest back to downtown Yorkville this weekend. Although the actual summer solstice is Thursday, the two-day event is Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, along the Fox River in Bicentennial Riverfront Park, 301 E. Hydraulic St.
Organizers describe the event as " the ultimate pairing of ground to glass brewed beverages and independent minded musicians on the cusp of greatness."
Hours are 4:30 to 11 p.m. Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The event is free — no need to buy tickets. Adults age 21 and over who want to buy alcohol will have to purchase a $5 wristband.

According to the website, Founders Brewing will be at the fest, as well as Three Angels Brewing.
Run Solstice
A four-mile race/two mile walk will coincide with the fest starting at 7 p.m. Friday. Day-of registration is $35. The race is held in partnership with Yorkville High School's state champion cross-country program.
Packet pickup and race-day registration is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in a small pavilion near the pedestrian bridge at Bicentennial Riverfront Park.
The race starts at 7 p.m.
