Speedway Proposes New Gas Station for Yorkville

Speedway is considering opened a new gas station at Route 47 and Galena Road in Yorkville, the Beacon-News reported.

But first, the gas station needs a variance from Kendall County to allow it to access Galena Road. According to the Beacon, Speedway wants to put in a right in, right out 430 feet from Route 47 and a full access to the gas station about 630 feet from Galena Road.

The distances are about half what the county requires, Highway Department Director Fran Klaas told the paper.
