Spooked Solicitor Jumps On Car Roof After Getting Scared By Dog: Yorkville Cops

The owners want restitution after the scared solicitor damaged the vehicle.

YORKVILLE, IL — A Yorkville man and woman want a salesman's company to cover the damage he caused when their dog spooked him and caused him to jump onto the roof of their car, police said. According to a Yorkville police report, the residents called police at around 6:22 p.m. Thursday to report a May 5 incident in which a man soliciting for an energy company became frightened by their dog and jumped onto the roof of their 2015 Ford Fusion. The man's panicked jump caused two small dents and scratches, according to the homeowners.

The homeowners have been in contact with the solicitor's company to ask for restitution, according to police.

The police report estimates the cost to repair the damage at $500, but does not say whether the solicitor was injured in the incident.
