Suspicious Item Brings Bomb Squad to Yorkville

Yorkville, IL — An old artillery projectile brought out the Kane County Bomb Squad and the Yorkville Police Department Wednesday morning.

According to Yorkville police, officers responded to the 500 block of West Fox Street at 10:45 a.m. for a report of a found artillery projectile.

Police learned the projectile had been found in the basement of a house. It would not detonate and was deemed safe.
