Pipe Identified as 'Suspicious Item' Found Near Walking Path
Police have reopened the path and road to the public.

OSWEGO, IL — A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe with caps on each end was the reason for the Kane County Bomb Disposal Unit being called to the area of Route 25 and Boulder Hill Pass in Oswego Township around 11:14 a.m. Dec. 17.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said the item appeared to have been washed up out of the river or covered with brush for an extended period of time.

No other suspicious items were located. The roadway and walking path are now open to the public.
Police had originally asked residents to stay clear of the area because of a “suspicious item” that was discovered for Illinois Department of Transportation employees while performing work in the area.

Police are reminding citizens to be cognizant of their surrounds and to contact law enforcement if any suspicious items are found.
