Tom Betsinger's Defense Attorney May Have Conflict Of Interest As Yorkville Alderman: Report
State's Attorney Eric Weis filed a motion saying Tom Betsinger's defense attorney may have conflicts of interest as a Yorkville alderman.
YORKVILLE, IL — Kendall County State's Attorney Eric Weis is looking to disqualify a Yorkville City Council alderman from serving as the defense attorney for the former Oswegoland Park District executive director due to his potential conflict of interest, according to a report from Shaw Local.
In mid-July, police said Tom Betsinger was accused of driving off the parking lot surface at BrightFarms Greenhouse "in what appears to be an intentional attempt to strike a pedestrian multiple times before crashing into two parked vehicles and fleeing the area," Patch reported.
Betsinger was charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, attempted reckless homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol as a result. He was placed on administrative leave, then stepped down soon after.
