Traffic Changes For Kendall County Fair Begin Aug. 2: Sheriff

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Fair Board announce a temporary road/traffic flow change for Aug. 2 to Aug. 5.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — The Kendall County Fair kicks off Aug. 2 and runs through Aug. 5, and with it comes a traffic change the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Kendall County Fair Board want you to be aware of. Starting at 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, East Highpoint Road in Kendall Township between Illinois State Route 71 and Legion Road will have a traffic flow change in place help with the expected heavy traffic and safety concerns due to this year's fair attendance:

Continuing until 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, all fair traffic will be detoured to Legion Road and enter the fairgrounds off East Highpoint Road -

  • Any traffic traveling southbound on Routes 71 and 47 will be detoured south to Legion Road, west to Highpoint Road, north to the fairgrounds.
  • All northbound traffic on Route 47 will turn west on Legion Road and enter the fairgrounds in the same manner.
  • All northbound traffic on Route 71 will be detoured to turn east on Legion Road then north on Highpoint to the fairgrounds.

Officials say no traffic will be allowed to enter Highpoint Road from Route 71 while the fair is operating, as this area will only be for exiting.

According to the sheriff's office and fair officials, signs will be posted and sheriff's deputies will be in the area, so prepare to stop for traffic in all directions.
