SANDWICH, IL — Sandwich Fire District officials said it's not clear why a juvenile stuck his tongue to a pole Tuesday night, after emergency responders were called to the incident near a Sandwich sledding hill, WSPY reported. According to the outlet, Sandwich Fire EMS was called around 5 p.m. to the 700 block of Charlotte Street on a report of a juvenile getting his tongue stuck to a metal pole.

If that incident makes you think of the holiday classic "A Christmas Story," you probably aren't the only one. It just so happens Scott Schwartz, who famously stuck his tongue to an icy pole as Flick in the film, will be at Hollywood Blvd. Cinema in Woodridge on Dec. 8 for a special meet and greet event. Stop in and meet Schwartz during the event, which is free to attend with the purchase of a movie ticket.
"A Christmas Story" is playing at the theater throughout the holiday season.
