Volunteer Signup for Wounded Warrior 5K is Saturday in Plainfield

For the fourth year, Operation Welcome You Home will kick off Memorial Day weekend with its annual Wounded Warrior 5K — and they could use some help.

The organization will host a signup event for volunteers willing to lend a hand at the May 23 race.

Anyone who would like to get involved can sign up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Plainfield Public Library,15025 S. Illinois St. The signup coincides with the library’s “Make a Difference” Volunteer Fair.

Proceeds from the 5K benefit area wounded servicemen and women.
