Volunteers Needed to Deliver Meals, Drive Seniors
Drivers serve once a month, or once a week, depending on their availability and desire to help.

The Community Nutrition Network, offering home-delivered meals to isolated senior citizens in Kendall County reports they are in desperate need of volunteers to help the close to 30 seniors identified for meals in Boulder Hill, according to a release from Senior Services Associates, Inc. in Yorkville.
“If you can imagine the impact that human contact would make if you yourself were isolated at home, you will recognize that these home delivered meals are about much more than a hot lunch each day,” RSVP Transportation Coordinator Barb Nadeau said in a press release.
Volunteers are also being sought to pick up and transport veterans living in the southern Kane and Kendall County region to the Aurora VA Clinic, located at 161 S. Lincolnway in North Aurora.

“In addition to veterans, there are many other senior citizens in need of transportation, too. Isolated seniors are looking for rides to doctors, therapy appointments and other important destinations, such as the bank or grocery store,” Nadeau said in the release.
Qualifications include: valid driver's license, good driving record, proof of auto insurance (supplemental insurance is available to drivers over 55 years of age), a strong passion for investment to veterans and desire to help other people, and good customer service skills such as courtesy, respect and professionalism, and the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
