Winter Festival Scheduled at Sense of Samadhi

The Sankalpa Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Feb. 28.

Back in January, when Illinois was vacillating between low temperatures of one degree below zero and high temperatures of 43 degrees, an idea was born to host an indoor winter festival.

Sense of Samadhi owner Tairi Grace and a yogi friend of hers named it the Sankalpa Fest, which means intention.

“And so it began, a festival to celebrate our intentions for the new year,” Grace said. “This festival has three workshops every hour - one is yoga themed, one art/creative themed , and one is spiritual.”

Part of Grace’s intention was to create a festival that offered something for everyone. To that end, participants can choose to purchase an all-day pass for $80, a half-day pass for $40 or individual passes that are priced at $15 per class.
