Yorkville Woman Airlifted After Semi Crash

TROY TOWNSHIP, IL — A 22-year-old Yorkville woman was airlifted to an area hospital after crash involving a semi Monday at Route 52 and County Line Road, at the Will/Kendall county border.

State police said the woman was heading north on County Line Road in a Chevy Malibu at around 9:06 a.m. when she stopped at the stop sign, then proceeded through the intersection and failed to yield to Route 52 traffic that did not have a stop sign. An eastbound tractor-trailer struck the Chevy.

The driver of the Chevy had to be extricated from her vehicle and wass transported by LifeStar Helicopter to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for non-life-threatening injuries.
