YHS Wrestling Team Wins NIB-XII Conference Championship

The Yorkville High School wrestling team placed first in the NIB-XII Conference Championship.

The team initially finished in second-place, but during the tournament the athletic director of Sycamore High School, which was initially the first-place team, discovered a series of scoring errors. After adjusting the scores, Yorkville placed first and Sycamore placed second.

In an email Chauncey Carrick, the Sycamore athletic director, said he knew "something was not jiving" with the scores and wanted to make sure things were correct.

Individual tournament results included Bobby Schillinger placing first in the 182 division and Tyler Wilkinson placed first in the 160 division. Additionally Tyler Burlington placed third in the 106 division, Brandon Brown placed third in the 120 division, Brody Sharp placed third in the 126 division, Brennan Sharp placed third in the 138 division and Gunnar Hjorth placed third in the 152 division.
