Yorkville Businesses Fail Tobacco Compliance Checks

YORKVILLE, IL — Two business in Yorkville failed tobacco compliance checks conducted by the Yorkville Police Department.

Using underage agents, police did checks Nov. 17 on all businesses in the City of Yorkville licensed to sell tobacco products.

The 7-Eleven at 1541 Sycamore Road and Country Tobacco at 1427 Cannonball Trail both failed the checks.

The Yorkville Police Department will be conducting tobacco compliance checks throughout the year and hopes to reduce violations through enforcement and education.
