Yorkville Crash Knocks Down Traffic Signal Pole
A Plano woman was cited for failure to yield while turning left.

YORKVILLE, IL — A crash that occurred at Route 34 and Cannonball trail Monday knocked down a traffic signal pole.
Police say a Plano woman was traveling on eastbound Route 34 turning northbound onto Cannonball trail when her front bumper struck the front bumper of an Aurora man who was traveling on westbound Route 34 and crossing Cannonball Trail at the traffic signal.
The collision caused the Aurora man to knock down a signal pole on the northwest corner.

The Plano woman had crumpled front-end damage and was towed from the scene. The Aurora man had a crumpled front-end that caused him to be stuck in the car. After extraction, he was taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center for minor injuries.
The Plano woman told police that when she turned the traffic light was yellow and she thought the Aurora man would stop. She was issued a citation for failure to yield turning left.
