Yorkville history book author Jillian Duchnowski presented Chapel on the Green Historical Society on Sunday with a $1,339 check, which represents a portion of the sales from her book’s launch events.

Arcadia Publishing’s Images of America: Yorkville launched Dec. 15 with more than 190 photographs of Yorkville and the surrounding area. Chapel on the Green Historical Society Executive Director Howard Manthei wrote the book’s introduction, and several historical society members provided photographs or memories for the book. The historical society is dedicated to preserving Chapel on the Green, 107 W. Center St. in Yorkville. The chapel, which hosts weddings and community events, is celebrating its 160th year in 2015.

The book is available online at Amazon, and in Yorkville at Dave’s Meat Market, 1174 N. Bridge St., and Yorkville City Hall, 800 Game Farm Road. You can find more information about the book on Facebook at www.facebook.com/yorkvillehistory
