Yorkville Job Opening: Maintenance Worker, Water Division

United City of Yorkville looking to fill position for Maintenance Worker II in the City's Public Works Department, Water Division.

YORKVILLE, IL — If you're looking for a job, or know someone who is, the United City of Yorkville is seeking someone who is qualified to fill a Maintenance Worker II position on the City's Public Works Department's Water Division. The City said the position works cooperatively with all of the City's Public Works Department's divisions while performing a variety of tasks.

According to the City, primary duties within the Water Division include, but are not limited to:

  • Water treatment plant operation
  • Maintenance and repair
  • SCADA system operation
  • Deep well operation
  • Water main and service line repairs
  • Hydrant and valve repairs
  • Utility locates
  • Meter reading, testing, repair and installation.

  • Three to five years of previous public works experience and a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
  • Must be willing to obtain a Class C Public Water Supply Operators certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Internal applicants should be in good standing with the City and demonstrate excellent customer service skills in their current position.
  • Must be available for 24-hour call out duty to include snow plowing and emergency maintenance as necessary.

According to the job description, the starting salary is $46,410, DOQ.
