Yorkville Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Abuse, Assault

A 23-year-old Yorkville man has been arrested on criminal sexual assault and abuse charges.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a well-being check on a female juvenile Feb. 27 at Duane’s Motel in Newark.

The girl was in the company of a man, who was an acquaintance, police said. There were no other adults present while the girl was at the motel. An allegation of criminal sexual assault was made by a parent during the well-being check, police said.

After an investigation, Jesse J. Martin was charged June 15 with two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to police.

Martin was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies without incident on June 17. Martin remains in custody at the Kendall County Jail. His bail was set at $250,000.
