Yorkville Man Rings In New Year By Fighting With Bouncers And Shorewood Cops At Skooter's Roadhouse: Police

The cops Tased the Yorkville man twice before he was subdued, police said.

A Yorkville man started off the New Year on the wrong foot when he brawled with bouncers at Skooter’s Roadhouse and then tried taking on a couple cops, police said.

The cops hit Shawn Sabo, 34, with a Taser but he kept on fighting, police said. He was reportedly subdued after he was Tased a second time.

Police were sent to the country-themed West Jefferson Street restaurant about 1 a.m. Jan. 1 to break up a disturbance. When officers arrived, they found Sabo scuffling with bouncers, police said. The officers intervened and Sabo allegedly fought with them as well.

Sabo hit one of the officers in the face and kicked him a few times, police said.

During Sabo’s bond hearing, a Will County judge told him to stay away from Skooter’s. He was also forbidden to possess a firearm or dangerous weapon, or to drink alcohol.

Sabo’s bond was set at $100,000. A friend posted 10 percent two days after his arrest and he was released from custody, according to county records.
