Yorkville Police Blotter: Retail Theft, Driving While Suspended
One report claims a person walked into a store early Friday morning and stole a bag of chips.

YORKVILLE, IL — Yorkville police released information about police reports and activity over the weekend, plus one incident from a couple weeks ago. All arrests listed do not necessarily imply guilt.
Criminal Damage to Property
Between 10 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 5:30 a.m. on Oct 4, somebody damaged the front pumper of a car parked in the 1800 block of Wash Drive. Estimated damage is $200. No further info is available.
Arson
On Friday, Oct. 12, around 3 a.m. in the 1200 block of Deer Street, somebody set fire to a vehicle in the business parking lot. No further info is available.

Retail Theft
On Friday, Oct. 12, around 5:42 a.m., police responded to a business in the 500 block of S. Bridge Street on a retail theft call. Somebody walked into a business and stole a bag of chips valued $1.69, police were told. Police ask anybody with information to come forward.
Retail Theft
On Friday, Oct. 12, around 7:29 p.m. Nicholas Voorhees, 18, of Aurora, was arrested in the 1900 block of S. Bridge Street. Police say Voorhees and a juvenile stole about $90 worth of alcohol. Voorhees is being charged with retail theft, possession of alcohol by a minor and resisting a peace officer. The juvenile is being charged with retail theft and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Lost Wallet
On Saturday, Oct. 13, between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., somebody lost a wallet in the 900 block of Erica Lane and notified police.
Speeding, Possession of Pot
On Sunday, Oct. 14, around 8:12 a.m., police stopped a juvenile by Rt. 126 and Rt. 47 for speeding. Police discovered cannabis and paraphernalia on the juvenile, whom was cited and released.
Burglary from Motor Vehicle
On Sunday, Oct. 14, between midnight and 11:30 a.m., somebody went into a car in the 400 block of Sanders Court and stole a purse containing about $25 cash, a driver's license and a state identification card.
Driving while Suspended
On Sunday, Oct. 14, around 12:49 p.m., police pulled over Victor Tapia, 29, of Plano, for driving 59 mph in a 35 mph construction zone. Police say he had a suspended driver's license, leading to his arrest.
