Yorkville Teen Had Loaded Handgun, Stun Gun: Aurora Cops
Police said the 17-year-old also had cannabis in the vehicle with him.

AURORA, IL — A Yorkville teenager is facing weapons and drug charges after police say he was caught with a loaded 9 mm handgun. Police said officers responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle at around 4 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of West Illinois St. noticed the smell of burnt cannabis while talking to occupants of the car.
Police said they got the 17-year-old out of the car, at which point he tried to run, "but only got about five feet before being taken to the ground by one of the officers. " When officers searched the teen, they found the loaded handgun, a small amount of cannabis and a stun gun, according to Aurora police.
Police said the teen, whose name was not released, is charged with three felonies, unlawful possession of a handgun and two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, as well as three misdemeanors: resisting police, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful use of a weapon.
