YPAC Youth Support Charities with Brave Project Fundraiser
Craft Fair and Music Performances Hosted Jan. 28 in Downtown Yorkville

YORKVILLE – Your Performing Arts Center (YPAC) students will host a craft fair and music show on Sunday, Jan. 28 in downtown Yorkville. The youth are raising funds for a variety of area charities as part of the annual Brave Project effort.
“Throughout the year, students at YPAC learn how they can utilize their gifts and talents to uplift and help others, and to serve in a way that can profoundly impact our world,” said Bridget Nameche, Community Relations Director for YPAC Yorkville. “Community service is a key component of this, and students are encouraged to raise money for a charity or cause they are passionate about.”
On Sunday, Jan. 28, YPAC dance students will sell handmade items from 1-2:30 p.m. at the center’s new location at 222 S. Bridge Street, Yorkville, and music students and instructors will perform live from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the Law Office Pub & Music Hall at 226 S. Bridge Street. The suggested donation for the music performance portion is $5 per person or $10 per family.

The 2017 YPAC Brave Project craft fair raised more than $900 to benefit various student-chosen charities including the Chicago Homeless Coalition, Feed My Starving Children, Hesed House, Living Well Cancer Resource Center, and Make a Wish.
“The culmination of the Brave Project is a benefit show featuring the YPAC dance and music community performing groups, and each year, this showcase services a need in our community,” said Nameche. “The 4th Annual Brave Project performances will be March 4 in Plainfield, and all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the help one of our own, the Kidonakis family. Mike, the father of YPAC Plainfield students Harry and Zoe, has been battling Stage 4 cancer for the past seven months.”

YPAC, owned by Brian and Emily Weber, opened its third location this month, and it is an affiliate member of More Than Just Great Dancing (MTJGD). The MTJGD organization is founded by Misty Lown, who started this movement to create a culture in the dance industry that sets the highest of standards in servant leadership, customer service, and age appropriate material and curriculum.
