Mother Of 3 Stabbed To Death In Northwest Indiana

HAMMOND, IN — A mother of three children was found dead in her Hammond home on Tuesday in a crime police were calling an "isolated incident." Lucia Gonzalez, 25, was reportedly stabbed to death in her kitchen, officials said. Police said Gonzalez' children were not harmed in the incident.

A relative told CBS Chicago the young mother had moved to Hammond from Chicago two years ago and lived with her boyfriend.

Hammond police on Tuesday said "there is no indication that the public is in any danger." Gonzalez' body was found at a home in the 7500 block of Alexander Avenue, police said. No one was in custody as of late Tuesday afternoon.

A friend described Gonzalez as an "amazing person" and devoted mother.
