Female motorcyclist critically injured in Anderson crash (wthr.com) — A serious Thursday night crash at West 53rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard left a woman motorcyclist from Anderson in critical but stable condition after she was transferred to an Indianapolis hospital. Police say a turning passenger vehicle entered the motorcycle’s path; the driver stayed on scene and cooperated, and investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened. 
2. Severe Storms and Tornado Warnings Hit Anderson and Marion, Indiana (news-usa.today subscription) — Severe storms brought tornado warnings to the Anderson–Marion area, with observers near Anderson reporting continuous lightning as the system pushed north. Emergency officials urge residents to move quickly to basements or interior rooms when warnings are issued, especially during dangerous nighttime storms, and to stay tuned to trusted alerts until the National Weather Service lifts advisories.
3. Yorktown Public Library finishes water mitigation, provides update on rebuilding process (wthr.com) — While Yorktown Public Library remains closed for months of rebuilding after major flood damage, Anderson Public Library is stepping up by offering reciprocal cards so Yorktown patrons can still access books, programs, and services. Staff say losing the ability to serve patrons has been the hardest part, but support from Anderson, Muncie, and libraries nationwide is helping them move toward reconstruction.
4. Anderson man convicted of shooting woman holding infant at Fishers apartment complex (wthr.com) — An Anderson man has been convicted of attempted murder and battery for shooting his ex-girlfriend multiple times while she held their infant at a Fishers apartment complex in 2025. Hamilton County prosecutors say he’ll be sentenced Oct. 9 and emphasize that such violent crimes are aggressively prosecuted, after additional lesser charges were dismissed before trial.
