Bedford Housing Authority announces key changes to waiting lists for Public Housing and Section 8 Vouchers (wbiw.com) — If you rely on affordable housing in Bedford, note that the Public Housing Waiting List will close September 30, 2026, while the Section 8 voucher list briefly reopens October 1 for only the first 50 complete applications. Hoosier National Forest Proposes Permanent Closure of Section of Tower Ridge Road (bloomingtonian.com) — Hoosier National Forest officials are weighing a permanent closure of three miles of Tower Ridge Road, rerouting it as a trail while keeping motorized access to key sites. Bedford residents can submit comments by September 24, with written feedback accepted at the Forest Service office on Constitution Avenue in Bedford.
